Automotive mold construction is mainly divided
into two types, one is auto exterior parts (i.e. interior and exterior trim
parts, typical of dashboard and bumper), and the other is structural parts
(typical of automotive intake pipe and elbow). In the automotive mold
construction, the car interior and exterior trim mold is the most widespread,
and the automotive structural parts are much less than the interior and
exterior trim parts.
The characteristics of automotive interior and
exterior parts are high requirements for product appearance, complex parting,
and high requirements for surface smoothness. Plastic automotive molds are
generally large and medium-sized, and the structure of automotive interior
parts molds is complex and variable. For car structural parts, the product
appearance requirements are not particularly high, mainly internal functional
parts, and surface treatment such as dermatoglyphics, electroplating, Water
transfer printing, etc. are not required. The main characteristics of
automotive structural components are complex and variable structures, multiple
and complex structures, and generally relatively simple typing.
The development of a new car requires nearly
800 sets of automotive moulds construction, and the interior and exterior
decoration accounts for more than 80% of the car part moulds construction. The
main interior and exterior decorations of cars include: dashboard assembly
series, auxiliary dashboard assembly series, door guard assembly series, ABCD
pillar assembly series, back door guard assembly series, bumper assembly
series, rearview mirror series, throttle cover series, lighting system, etc.
Automotive structural components mainly consist
of a series of products such as automotive intake pipes, water tanks, sinks,
and bends. With the development of the trend of lightweight cars, replacing
steel with plastics will be an inevitable trend, and plastics, synthetic
materials, and carbon fibers will be increasingly used in cars. With the
arrival of the era of new energy, autonomous driving, and lightweight cars, it
is inevitable to promote the rapid development of auto part molds.
Yuanfang technology engineers conduct a
comprehensive review and analysis of the product before auto parts mold design,
including structural analysis, shrinkage analysis, mold release analysis, and
mold flow analysis, and send DFM analysis to customers to maximize their
assistance in optimizing product design.
